We have a new Executive Director! The Humane Society of Goodhue County is happy to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director, Anna Ostendorf. Anna served on the Humane Society board for over 2 years, was a key player in our reorganization this last year, and took on the challenges of the Interim Co-Director position at the shelter in October of 2008. During her time on the board and as an Interim Director, Ostendorf led the recovery efforts, moved us forward in financial health and accountability, has succeeded in improving the functioning of the shelter and in her spare time coordinated several fundraising events! Anna has proven to be nothing short of amazing, the hands-on conscientious go-to person that we can depend on. She has done this work while continuing her education as a full-time University of Minnesota student, and as a busy mother of 2. Anna brings a high level of organization, dedication, and creativity to the position as well as a love for animals and a passion for community service.

The Humane Society in the News Recently, articles regarding a previous director of the Humane Society and associated legal proceedings have appeared in local newspapers. While we cannot comment on the investigation or events of the past, we can share information about the Humane Society and what is happening there presently. As always, our animals remain our highest priority and they continue to be well cared for. Our organization has overcome the challenges of the past year and is financially healthy. We have worked to improve our financial system for increased accountability, have reorganized the shelter for a fresh new start, and are excited about the future. |
