All of our animals are current with their vaccinations and come with a free collar, tag, goody bag and a bag of food. We also offer 10% off our retail supplies at the time of adoption to help you prepare for your new family member.

Adopting a Pet in 4 Easy Steps!

1. Think about your lifestyle. What kind of time and energy do you have to devote to a pet? Are you renting? If so, what kinds of pets does your landlord allow? What kind of a pet would you like to have? A bit of thought and research can ensure that you choose the best kind of pet for you. The Humane Society of the United States has many links to help you learn more about pet adoption.

2. Visit the Humane Society and spend time with the animals. Just like people, animals have personalities all their own so it’s important to get to know your potential pet to make sure he or she is good match for you. The Humane Society staff works with the animals there and can help answer questions about the animal you’re interested in.

3. Apply to adopt your new friend! Adoptees must be 18 years of age or older and must read, initial and agree with our adoption procedures and policies. Many of our pets are already spayed or neutered but if you choose one that isn’t, you must agree to have the procedure done within 30 days or as soon as the animal is of age. An adoption donation is required which helps offset the costs of the Humane Society.

4. Love your new pet! Once you’ve been approved, you can take your new furry family member home! It may take a little while for your pet to get acclimated to his new surroundings, but in time you’ll have a new friend to give you unconditional love and furry snuggles.
